2017-10-13

Preliminary statistics show that civil aviation has transported 12.95 million passengers in total during 2017 National Day Holiday (Oct. 1- October 8), growing by 14.6% compared with the same period of 2016. The average passenger factor rate is over 80%. The domestic airlines have carried out altogether 96,000 flights, with a year-on-year increase of 4.12%. On the whole, the civil aviation has operated safely and smoothly.

During the National Day Holiday, the passenger traffic volume of airports in the tourist destinations has witnessed an obvious increase and the passenger load factor of departure flights are relatively high in such airports as Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Zhuhai, Haikou, Sanya, Nanjing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Wenzhou, Lanzhou, Xining, Urumchi, Jinggang Mountain, Xishuangbanna, Zhengzhou, Wuyi Mountain, Luoyang, Yantai, Hefei and Nanchang etc. The average passenger load factor of departure flight in the above-mentioned cities is over 85%, among which the passenger load factor of one-way departure flight in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo and Hangzhou airports before the National Day Holiday have been over 90%. Comparatively speaking, the passenger load factor of one-way departure flights in Sanya, Jingganshan, Wuyi Mountain, Mount Huang, Nanchang, Yantai and Luoyang airport etc. at the very end of National Day Holiday is also over 90%.

Based on the passenger traffic volume, the traffic peak before National Day Holiday has already begun on Sep. 30 and Oct. 1 has seen the traffic peak, transporting 1.672 million passengers on this single day. The passenger traffic volume on Oct. 2 began to gradually drop. The National Day Holiday lasts 8 days this year, providing an opportunity for the passengers to avoid the peak hours and is thus responsible for the ˇ°not-too-lowˇ± state of passenger traffic volume. Compared with that of last year, the passenger traffic volume between the National Day Holiday is relatively larger. Owing to the fact that Chinese has the tradition of getting together during the Middle-Mutuum Day, the passenger traffic volume on Oct. 4 reached its lowest point. Oct. 5 has seen a gradual increase of returning passengers and the passenger peak will fall on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8, with Oct. 8 being the passenger traffic peak. The passenger traffic volume of civil aviation on Oct. 8 will reach 17.1 million.
