Investigation Team of China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda Comes to Mianyang for Survey

(Mianyang News) (reporter Li Lingyue) Zhang Haiqing, deputy director of China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda, led his team investigate the protection and propaganda of giant panda in Mianyang.

The team visited the Wanglang National Nature Reserve and learnt about the protection and propaganda of giant panda in Mianyang in detail by listening to the reports, viewing data, holding forums and other ways. It carried out exchanges and discussions on the protection, wild training, releasing and cultural construction work of giant panda. The team affirmed the achievements of Mianyang in the protection and cultural propaganda of giant panda, and discussed the relevant issues concerning on the establishment of strategic partnerships between the research centre and Mianyang. The team believed that the Mianyang municipal party committee and the municipal government attach great importance to ecological construction, and have done a great deal of work in the protection of the giant panda with effective measures and remarkable results. As the area with the largest number of pandas in the wild, Mianyang has a brilliant future in implementing the development philosophy of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", strengthening the construction of ecological civilization, promoting the brand building of giant panda culture and other fields. The Centre will strongly support Mianyang in the building of giant panda national park, wild-exercising training and releasing of captive panda, cultural building of giant panda, science and education, etc.
