Mianyang Conducts an Overall Inspection over the Check and Prevention Work on Geological Disasters and Risks in Scenic Area

Abstract: Recently, our reporters have learned that Mianyang has set up an inspector section to conduct an overall inspection over the check and prevention work on travel-related geological disasters and risks so as to ensure the safety production in cultural tourism industry and the prevention and control work on geological disasters during flood season and safeguard tourists¡¯ personal and property safety.

Mianyang News (reporter Xie Yan) Recently, our reporters have learned that Mianyang has set up an inspector section to conduct an overall inspection over the check and prevention work on travel-related geological disasters and risks so as to ensure the safety production in cultural tourism industry and the prevention and control work on geological disasters during flood season and safeguard tourists¡¯ personal and property safety.

The inspector section, following the requirements of ¡°Si Bu Liang Zhi (a system for secret check and inquiry)¡±, entered the scenic area(scenic spot) and inspected potential spots of flood prevention and geological disasters, especially those potential spots of geological disasters in major scenic areas(scenic spots), food safety in hotels and special equipment safety. Besides, the section also made relevant demands according to actual conditions: first, strengthen the investigation over risks and hidden dangers, enhance emergency exercise and improve safety emergency disposal capacity. Second, put up more warning signs in potential spots to tell tourists to keep away from high-risk geological disaster area. Next, clear and renovate disaster-stricken spots and set up more safety safeguard procedures. At the same time, workers at all positions should pay close attention to weather and geological conditions, strength supervision, ensure 24-hour effective communication and make preparations of emergency disposal in advance to avoid debris flow, landslide and collapse. What¡¯s more, they should advise tourists to leave and disperse them in time when special weather occurs, report dangerous cases timely to superiors and handle them correctly and shut the scenic area if necessary.

The inspector section stresses that all competent departments of tourism should supervise and urge related departments and units to make quick rectification without missing one hidden danger or potential spot in accordance with the principal of ¡°checking, patrolling and examining the hidden dangers before, in and after the rain respectively¡± and ¡°conducting complete inspection without blind angle¡±. Furthermore, they should strengthen the emergency management of travel-related enterprises, ensure workers, material and fund for flood prevention and disaster relief in place, consolidate the construction of the linked consultation mechanism between related departments, and make concerted efforts to realize joint management, safeguarding tourists¡¯ personal and property safety.
