On February 21, the reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that during the ˇ°golden weekˇ± of 2018 Spring Festival, the consumer goods market was well-supplied with a stable price. The total retail sales of consumer goods registered about 3.3 billion yuan, up 10% year on year.

During the ˇ°golden weekˇ±, the total value of daily necessities, meat, grain and oil, fruits and vegetables on the markets of Mianyang reached nearly 10 billion yuan. Supermarkets in main districts like Trust-Mart, Wal-Mart Stores, RT-Mart, Yonghui Superstores, organized nearly 300-million-yuan holiday goods like alcohol, tobacco, tea, candies, melon seeds, nuts, cured meat products, grain and oil, seasonal fruits and vegetables and so on. Gaoshui Vegetable Wholesale Market organized 520,000 tons of seasonal and anti-seasonal vegetables which were sent into local and peripheral markets, with the daily supply reaching 15,700 tons. Longmen Fruit Market and Tiantai Jiannan Market organized about 25,000 tons of fruit, with the daily supply reaching 1,200 tons. The market supply of great varieties and quality met the needs of different consumer groups during the festival.

Since the ˇ°Shopping Month to Embrace the Spring Festivalˇ± was held in December last year, the consumer market has frequently witnessed various promotion-intensified activities. The key monitored six retail companies, that is Trust-Mart, Wal-Mart, New World Department Store, Parkson, Carful, and Suning, earned 48.06-million-yuan sales income, up 6.9% year on year. The sales of entity shops upturned obviously. In addition, the consumption in the tertiary industry also grew due to the fine weather. The suburban tourism continued to heat up. Scenic spots, leisure resorts and agritainment resorts received a significantly increased number of tourists, raising the consumption of smallwares, food and beverage.
