(Mianyang News) Recently, the reporter learned from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission that this year, the city will strive to finish the task of relocating 2,226 people since it has completed the task of alleviating poverty by relocating 3,500 people in 2016 and 2017. The overall goal of relocating 5,726 persons for poverty alleviation during the ˇ°Thirteenth Five-Year Planˇ± period will be fully completed, and the plan to complete four-year tasks within three years will be realized under the condition that standards remain unchanged and quality does not decrease.

Relocation for poverty alleviation is an important batch among the five batches of poverty-alleviation projects. It aims to help the poverty-stricken people get rid of poverty through relocation and live a well-off life. It is informed that during the ˇ°Thirteenth Five-Year Planˇ± period, Mianyang aims to relocate 5,297 people to help them get rid of poverty. After the city actively strove for it last year, the target number added another 429 people up to 5,726.

In order to ensure that the task of reducing poverty through relocation will be successfully completed this year, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission and other project counties will increase their efforts and work hard to break down the targets and tasks to the counties and townships in time. Responsibility warrants will be signed between Mianyang city and counties, and project counties and townships. Mianyang city and project counties have formulated scientific and reasonable implementation plans. We should effectively implement the project funds, open up a ˇ°green channelˇ± for administrative approvals, and strive to do a good job in preparatory work such as project approval, survey and design, homestead site selection, and building materials preparation. We should actively promote project construction, operate in accordance with wall charts, follow-up procedures, and phase-down schedules to speed up the construction progress so as to ensure that each registered poverty-stricken household live in a safe and comfortable new house, and achieve poverty alleviation and prosperity in a steady way.
