Mianyang plans to invest a total of 11.3 billion yuan in supporting the 22 poverty alleviation projects such as agriculture, industry, rural energy, to name but a few. In 2017, Mianyang exerted great efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved remarkable results in poverty alleviation. It helped 283,100 people get rid of poverty and reduced 249 poor villages. The year 2018 is the crucial year for poverty alleviation. In the face of severe situations for poverty eradication, Mianyang has grasped the requirement for precision poverty reduction and put ¡°embroidery¡± efforts. By considering the annual task of eliminating poverty and combining reality of industries, the city¡¯s Poverty Alleviation Office and the city¡¯s Poverty Alleviation Department adhered to being goal-oriented, problem-oriented, result-oriented and quality-oriented. It carefully organized the compilation of the implementation plans for the 22 poverty alleviation projects such as agricultural industry, industrial manufacturing, tourism, commerce, rural land remediation, science and technology, and benefiting people through culture, to name but a few. In terms of education, medical care and social security, Mianyang will guarantee that 11,785 students will not drop out of school due to their poor family conditions and ensure that the proportion of the fees individuals pay for hospitalization within counties and in chronic disease clinics can be controlled within 10%. It will also subsidize the subsistence allowance for the disabled who are entitled to national poverty relief funds, the health care allowance for the severely disabled and the subsistence allowance for the extremely impoverished disabled.
